LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION

Law Enforcement Officers - The Law Enforcement Division consists of seven state-certified law enforcement officers who are responsible for law enforcement in and for the Court. These officers maintain security within the courthouse and serve as bailiffs to the judges when needed. One of their major duties is to serve process, including arrest warrants when issued by the Court. Officers are also called upon to transport prisoners, both for court appearances and when police officers find wanted subjects.

Officers of the law enforcement division supervise defendants sentenced to work details, both inside and outside the court building. Commissioned through the Gulfport Police Department, Court law enforcement officers also carry out general police duties when called upon, and initiate police action when necessary.

Staff Support - In support of the sworn officers, a staff of three civilians perform ancillary duties, including maintaining warrant files, preparing process, collecting unpaid fines, radio communications, and bail bond processing.
