Job growth in Gulfport on the rise, despite recession
GULFPORT — According to a report by The Kiplinger Letter, job growth is accelerating nationally and all but two states have made it out of recession: Nevada and Mississippi.
However, the same report noted that despite the state’s slow climb out of recession, at least one metro area in Mississippi is experiencing a spike in job growth: Gulfport.
Because of a bump in business with Latin America two port cities, Gulfport and Brownsville, Texas, are witnessing job growth of 4 percent or more.
