Don’t miss Sugarplum Saturday

Sugarplum Saturday 2010GULFPORT — The City of Gulfport will host an exciting Christmas parade this Saturday, Dec. 4, at 10:30 a.m. Come early and enjoy doughnuts, hot chocolate and Christmas music in Sugarplum Wonderland — which is actually Lighthouse Park on 14th Street any other time of the year.

Then, don't miss your favorite holiday characters — Rudolph, the Grinch, the Gingerbread Man, the Snow Princess, and of course, Santa — riding in the downtown parade. The parade also will feature marching bands from many of our local high schools, along with a special tribute to our local Boy Scout troops, who are celebrating 100 years of the Boy Scouts of America.

After the parade, stick around for photos with those famous holiday faces at Sugarplum Wonderland. Santa and his elves, the Grinch, Rudolph and others will be wandering through Lighthouse Park, and Walgreens will be taking free photos of your children with Santa. Bring your cameras, your youngsters and the entire family to Sugarplum Saturday in Gulfport.
