Tree giveaway
The Gulfport Beautification Department will be giving away free trees on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 8 a.m.-noon.
This year, the city will use two separate locations for its tree giveaway: Westside Park and the Lyman Community Center on U.S. 49. The Orange Grove Chamber of Commerce will be assisting in handing out trees.
To help celebrate Arbor Day, the city will be giving away the following types of trees:
- Sycamore
- Bald Cypress
- Live Oaks
- Redbuds
- River Birch
- Southern Magnolias
